Classes, classes and more classes.

Start of the new year off right with some glass, clay and metal. I will be teaching glass classes every month at my new studio located in Brazee Street Studios. The classes will include the basics of fusing and flameworking. In the Spring, we will begin casting and more advanced techniques. Also at Brazee, check out my dear friend Christopher Daniel teaching at Blue Hell Studio, also located in Brazee. He is a master of steel and can make it move in super human ways. He has shown nationally and internationally. We are so fortunate to have him here in Cincinnati and at Brazee. This summer, I am teaching at Miami University again in the Craftsummer program. I will be teaching along some of my favorite people who happen to be amazing artists. Leah Tuscany is a flame worker extraordinaire who has unmatched patience with all things hot. Derek Reeverts, a ceramicist, creates work that is not only exceptionally well crafted but really "smart." And... my mentor for the last 20+ years of my life, Jim Killy, will be teaching Bronze Casting. This is not only a rare offering as far as a medium, Bronze, but a spectacular person is teaching. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Craftsummer. It is a great program run by great people. See you soon. Happy Holidays, Sandy

"Considering Not Clear"

Well, it has been a crazy 6 days in Portland. I am here at the BeCon Conference and am studying Color with Nathan Sandberg and Erik Whittemore. So 35 molds and fingernails later, I am finding out some interesting things about color and cannot wait to get home and incorporate this knowledge into my work. Who knows, I just might cast in something other than clear!
